Eddy Massier – An Introduction

Hello, I am Eddy Massier (my formal name is Eduard but my friends and most of my colleagues call me “Eddy”). I would like to use the opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and describe my core areas of expertise and experience.

On this web-site you will find the following pages that describe more in detail the work accomplished in my career and how I can contribute – split into:

So, who is Eddy Massier?

I grew up in Germany but also spent part of my education in the US and the UK. Most of my career has been in the sporting goods and retail industry – predominantly in Turkey and the MEA region – in General Management as well as leadership positions in Business Development, Marketing, Supply-Chain & IT. As a strong believer in empowerment and team success I put a lot of emphasis on promoting a high performance culture and developing talent. I am equally strong in strategic thinking, day-to-day operations, dealing with high complexity and driving financial performance. People who know and have worked with me would describe me as an inclusive leader who can set strategy and communicate it in a simple and clear way, unites behind shared goals, empowers but also holds his team accountable, is hand-on and strong in execution, is result oriented, resilient, a good listener and communicator, a teamplayer, structured but also agile, win-win oriented and who possesses strong customer relations.

I have most recently joined hummel, the Danish sports-lifestyle brand, to lead the organization across Turkey, MEA, CIS and the Balkans. Prior, I worked close to twenty years for adidas with my most recent assignment as General Manager for five years leading four adidas subsidiaries with combined revenues of close to 400m EUR out of Istanbul. Before that I was based in Dubai for six years as VP adidas Brand and Business Development for Emerging Markets, a region covering the Southern Balkans, Turkey, the Middle East (incl. Iran) and Africa.

I am Certified Executive Coach and Master Facilitator and enjoy helping people and teams to become better at what they do and to achieve their ambitions.

Our family is truely international. My wife Semra is Turkish-Bulgarian, our older son Deniz was born in Dubai and our younger one Levin in Istanbul. We love spending time together, travelling and doing sports.
